Groundswell’s Incubator Farm Volunteer Party / Work Day

It’s time to get out to the farm and get some projects done! We are calling on all of our friends, fans and fellow farmers to come on out and pitch in, learn a new skill, get a little dirty and have some fun! Help us build a hoop house and install fencing! Snacks and drinks will be provided. Groundswell Teamster TrainingDraft Animal Practicum
Sunday, April 24, 9am – 4pm
Don’s Teamster Training School, Northland Sheep Dairy, Marathon, NY
Tuition: $175
This popular one-day workshop includes hands-on practice with experienced draft animals under the supervision of knowledgeable teamsters. This class is appropriate for anyone considering getting started with draft animals, as well as those with a few years of teamster experience. Managing Soils for Better Crops

SESSION 1 (of 4): Soil Science 201
Wednesday, April 27, 5pm – 8pm 
Tuition: $45 (or $150 for all 4 Sessions)
What makes healthy soil? Participants will learn basic soil health characteristics and conduct physical property tests on various soil samples.
